It's difficult! But yes, I have seen people doing a better job when given the freedom to work. They deploy a better process and achieve a much better result. Humbling always.

Indeed in Cutler's post, #2 got a little deep but then #3 had a turnaround unlike anything. :)
#4, that's the thing to learn for every new manager and for every manager as they keep evolving.
